Tips for buying trading cards on Amazon

A product being available on Amazon is not automatically a deal. CardWatch shows trading card products that are available on Amazon or open for preorder, but Amazon listings can be sold by Amazon or by third-party marketplace sellers, and marketplace prices can sit well above normal retail. Check each listing on Amazon before buying.

1. 1. Check who is selling and who fulfils the order

   An Amazon listing can be sold by Amazon or by a third-party marketplace seller, and dispatch can be handled by Amazon or by the seller. CardWatch does not capture the seller or fulfilment for a listing, so open the product on Amazon and read the "Sold by" and "Dispatched from" details yourself. A third-party seller appearing on a listing is not a guarantee of price, stock or reliability.

2. 2. Availability and price can change quickly

   Amazon stock and pricing move fast, and marketplace listings in particular can change between checks. CardWatch reports the availability and price it last observed, not a live guarantee, so confirm the current price and availability on Amazon at the moment you buy.

3. 3. Confirm delivery, language and exact contents

   Before ordering, check the delivery estimate to your address, the product language (some listings are Japanese or other imports rather than English), and the exact contents and edition, since booster boxes, tins and bundles can have similar-looking titles. Read the listing's return conditions on Amazon too.
