Wave 2 of Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration releases in Australia on Friday 2 October 2026 with the Booster Bundle and Mini Tins, and the Mewtwo promo card offer starts the same day at participating retailers. This guide covers what is confirmed for 2 October, the preorders that have already happened, current retailer stock and allocation information, and what is still unknown. Products for 2 October
The Booster Bundle and Mini Tins are the two products scheduled for Wave 2 on 2 October. Retailer availability varies, with confirmed and expected retailers listed below.
Booster Bundle
ConfirmedOn the official 2 October schedule. EB Games and EE TCG list it with a 2 October release date, and BIG W has reported per-store allocations across 178 stores. Earlier preorders: JB Hi-Fi online on 6 July, EB Games in its earlier online preorder rounds, and BIG W online on 3 September. JB Hi-Fi has a further batch loaded in its backend, with no confirmed release date.
Mini Tins (ten artwork variants)
ConfirmedOn the official 2 October schedule. EB Games and EE TCG list it with a 2 October release date, and BIG W has reported per-store allocations across 178 stores. Earlier preorders: JB Hi-Fi online on 6 July, EB Games in its earlier online preorder rounds, and BIG W online on 7 September, plus additional EB Games in-store preorders (up to 5 per person, EB Plus required) from 14 September. JB Hi-Fi has a further batch loaded in its backend, with no confirmed release date.

ConfirmedFrom 2 October at EB Games, JB Hi-Fi, BIG W, Toymate and Mr Toys with a minimum $15 Pokémon TCG spend, while supplies last, in-store and online, per the official announcement. The offer is not limited to Wave 2 products, and taking part in the promo does not mean a retailer will stock the Booster Bundle or Mini Tins on 2 October. Check each retailer's own terms before travelling.
Release times
No retailer has announced a special Wave 2 release time, in store or online. For in-store shopping, store opening hours are the practical guide: BIG W and Kmart stores generally open from 8am, and Target stores from 8am or 9am depending on location. Hours vary by store, so check your local store before travelling. Preorder dates on this page are when preorders opened, not release times. For online stock, watch CardWatch alerts rather than assuming a set time.
Where to buy on release day

BIG W has reported per-store allocations of the Booster Bundle and Mini Tins across 178 stores for 2 October. Reported allocation is backend data and does not guarantee shelf stock. Stores generally open at 8am, and no special Wave 2 release time has been announced. Additional online stock on 2 October has not been confirmed. On recent BIG W online drops, products became purchasable through search results before the product page showed Add to Cart, and shoppers hit queue, CAPTCHA and checkout issues.

EB Games lists both the Booster Bundle and Mini Tins with a 2 October release date. Both products were included in EB's earlier 30th Celebration online preorder rounds. EB later opened an additional in-store Mini Tin preorder from 14 September, with up to 5 per person and EB Plus required. Walk-in stock and any additional online stock for 2 October have not been announced.

JB previously released Booster Bundles and Mini Tins online on 6 July. A further batch of both products is currently loaded in JB's backend, but its release date has not been confirmed. JB Hi-Fi does not normally sell Pokémon TCG products in store.

Kmart opened Wave 2 online preorders on 24 July. Kmart is expected to carry Wave 2 in store, and stores generally open at 8am. No special Wave 2 release time has been announced, and store allocation and additional online stock for 2 October have not been confirmed.
Target is expected to carry Wave 2 in store, and stores generally open at 8am or 9am depending on location. No special Wave 2 release time has been announced, and listings and store allocation have not been confirmed. On recent Pokémon releases, Target's online stock has often appeared shortly after stores open.
Toymate opened Wave 2 online preorders on 13 August. Toymate is expected to carry Wave 2 in store, but store allocation, additional online stock and release timing for 2 October have not been confirmed.

Games World is expected to carry Wave 2, but availability and release timing have not yet been confirmed.
Kidstuff is expected to carry Wave 2, but availability and release timing have not yet been confirmed.
Myer is expected to carry Wave 2, but availability and release timing have not yet been confirmed.
Mr Toys participated in the 16 September 30th Celebration release and is expected to carry Wave 2. Booster Bundle and Mini Tin availability for 2 October has not yet been confirmed.

Specialist stores: EE TCG lists the Booster Bundle and Mini Tin as releasing 2 October. Pokébox and Collectible Madness list both products and Trainer Town lists the Booster Bundle, without a release date. Gameology added both listings on 24 September, also without a release date. None of these currently shows stock, and many specialist stores allocate through preorder, so check each store directly.

Shopping-centre access
If the store is inside a shopping centre, check the centre's own opening and access information as well as the store's advertised time. Some public entrances open earlier because they service early-opening tenants (supermarkets, gyms), and different entrances can leave you much closer to Kmart, BIG W and the like. Do not use staff-only or restricted entrances, and do not assume a queue at one exterior entrance is the only queue. When you arrive, confirm where the actual store queue is forming.
Find where the line is forming
Most stores will use the normal entrance and a simple first-come queue. Some stores may hand out numbered tickets or stickers, or introduce another queue system on the day. If staff or security are managing the queue, follow their directions.
Arrive early and expect queues
Arrive early and expect queues to form outside the shopping centre before opening. Once the centre opens, customers will generally make their way to the retailer and form a second queue outside the store. Queue management varies by location. Some stores may hand out numbers or tickets, use stickers, or introduce purchase limits, while others may simply serve customers in queue order.
24-hour Kmart
A 24-hour Kmart does not necessarily mean a midnight Pokémon release. On previous launches, collector reports have varied: some stores released around midnight, others held launch stock until the morning. Check with the specific store rather than assuming stock will be released at 12:00am.
CardWatch state channels
Check your CardWatch Discord state channel before travelling and while moving between stores. Members share live local intelligence: queue sizes, where the queue is forming, whether numbers are being handed out, reported limits, whether stock has reached the floor or customer service, and whether a store looks sold out. Have a backup store
Pick a second destination before launch morning. Areas with several relevant retailers (Kmart, BIG W, Toymate, Toyworld, Games World and local card stores) give you another option if your first store has a big queue, gets no stock or sells out. None of these are guaranteed to have release-day stock.
