Pokémon 30th Celebration Battle Decks: 30 October Australian Release Guide
Friday 30 October 2026 · Australia
Last updated 18 October 2026
The Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration Battle Decks release in Australia on Friday 30 October 2026: an Espeon ex deck and an Umbreon ex deck. They are ready-to-play 60-card decks, not booster products, and no booster packs are included. This guide covers what is in each deck, BIG W's reported store allocation by state (it is small), the Australian retailers CardWatch has tracked with the decks and their prices, and what is still unknown before release day. For the full product lineup and later release waves, see the Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration release page.
The two Battle Decks
Two decks release on 30 October, sold separately. Each is an all-foil, ready-to-play 60-card deck with a deck box, coin and playmat, per the official product showcase. Neither contains booster packs. Most Australian listings sell them as one assorted line, so check whether a retailer lets you choose the deck.

Espeon ex Battle Deck
ConfirmedBuilt around Espeon ex, with an illustration rare-style Victini as its other featured card. Contents per the official showcase: a 60-card all-foil deck, a deck box, a coin and a playmat. Some retailer listings also describe damage counters, reference and strategy sheets and a Pokémon TCG Live code card; those listings say their contents are subject to final confirmation, and the official showcase does not list them. No booster packs.

Umbreon ex Battle Deck
ConfirmedBuilt around Umbreon ex, with an illustration rare-style Zeraora as its other featured card. The same configuration as the Espeon ex deck: a 60-card all-foil deck, a deck box, a coin and a playmat per the official showcase, and no booster packs. The two decks are the only 30th Celebration products scheduled for 30 October.
BIG W allocation by state
BIG W's reported per-store allocation of the Battle Decks, summarised by state from CardWatch's 30 October stock report. The report counts both decks together. These are reported store allocations, not guaranteed shelf stock.
| State | Stores | Units reported |
|---|---|---|
| NSW | 59 | 770+ |
| QLD | 46 | 585+ |
| VIC | 28 | 340+ |
| WA | 17 | 215+ |
| SA | 18 | 150+ |
| ACT | 5 | 70+ |
| NT | 2 | 30+ |
| TAS | 3 | 30+ |
| All states | 178 | 2,200+ |
Big W report loaded 16 October 2026; 178 stores across 8 states.
This is a small allocation by 30th Celebration standards. It works out to about a dozen decks per store on average, where BIG W's reported 2 October allocation ran to more than a hundred Booster Bundles and Mini Tins per store and its 16 September allocation to dozens of each product per store. Most stores are down for between 5+ and 15+ decks, and no store is reported above 30+. If a particular store matters to you, check it in the store-by-store breakdown rather than assuming your state's total is spread evenly.
Release times
No retailer has announced special arrangements for 30 October, but CardWatch has monitored enough Australian Pokémon releases to know the usual shape of the day. Major Australian retailers generally open Pokémon TCG preorders well ahead of release day. The Battle Decks have already appeared online at JB Hi-Fi and Kmart in July, EB Games in July and August, and BIG W in September. Those earlier listings are no longer available, and further online stock has not been confirmed.
Release day itself is primarily an in-store shopping day. BIG W and Kmart stores generally open from 8am and Target from 8am or 9am depending on the store, with stock out from opening, so the first hour is the main window. Target is the one major retailer that has sometimes put stock online on launch day itself, so it is worth watching online as well as in store.
Games World opened at 8am for both earlier 30th Celebration releases, and selected Toymate stores opened at 7am for the 16 September launch in NSW, SA, VIC, ACT and QLD; neither has confirmed special opening hours for 30 October, so assume normal hours unless they announce otherwise.
Also releasing on 30 October
The Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution Ascended Heroes Focused Fighters Premium Collection also releases in Australia on Friday 30 October. It's a separate product from the 30th Celebration Battle Decks, with different retailer availability and release-day arrangements.

Where to buy on release day
Online vs in-store availability by retailer. Availability, limits and product mix can differ by store and location.
BIG W has reported a per-store allocation of the Battle Decks across 178 stores, summarised by state above; these are reported store allocations, not guaranteed shelf stock. CardWatch tracked a BIG W online preorder listing at $40 in early September, sold as one assorted line; it has not been seen since 8 September, and it showed 29 October rather than 30 October, so BIG W's own date may differ by a day. BIG W's pattern is online preorders ahead of launch, then in-store stock on release day, so treat 30 October as a store day: check your store's allocation and arrive for opening.
Tracked listing: $40, assorted (Espeon ex or Umbreon ex), last seen 8 Sep
Reported allocation: 178 stores; see the state table above
EB Games offered the Battle Deck during both its July and August 30th Celebration online preorder rounds. In the second round on 28 August, the deck was priced at $49 and available to EB Plus members, with a limit of one product per member. CardWatch recorded the Battle Deck going out of stock shortly after the second preorder wave began around 4pm. For previous 30th Celebration releases, EB Games also offered selected in-store preorders and had limited additional walk-in stock at some locations after release. Availability varied significantly by product and store. Whether Battle Decks will be available to walk-in customers on 30 October remains unconfirmed.
First preorder round: July 2026 · Battle Deck included
Second preorder round: 28 Aug · $49 · EB Plus · 1 product per member · out of stock shortly after the 4pm wave
JB Hi-Fi previously opened preorders for the Espeon ex / Umbreon ex Battle Deck at $40, in its July 30th Celebration preorder round. CardWatch subsequently identified a potential restock, with 250 units staged and a purchase limit of one per customer; as of 18 October that stock has not been released. The staged allocation does not guarantee another release, and no restock date or time has been confirmed. JB Hi-Fi primarily sells Pokémon TCG products online, so any further availability is more likely to appear online than in store.

Kmart listed the 30th Celebration Battle Deck online for $40 on 24 July, with the listing going out of stock later that afternoon. Kmart has consistently stocked previous 30th Celebration releases in store on launch day, with quantities generally comparable to BIG W. That makes it one of the main retailers to consider on 30 October, particularly if your local BIG W has a small reported allocation. Most stores open at 8am, so aim to arrive before opening. Stock quantities will vary by store, and Battle Deck allocations have not yet been confirmed. A 24-hour Kmart does not necessarily mean a midnight release.
Target has carried the earlier 30th Celebration releases in store, so it is expected to stock the Battle Decks, with stores opening at 8am or 9am depending on location and in-store quantities usually smaller than BIG W's or Kmart's. It is also the one major retailer that sometimes releases online on launch day: on 16 September its 30th Celebration stock appeared online at several points through the day and evening, so keep watching rather than assuming one window. Target's 30th Celebration availability has been uneven, with reports of Western Australian stores missing out on earlier waves; CardWatch cannot verify state coverage for the Battle Decks. CardWatch has not tracked a Target Battle Deck listing, and no store allocation or online release is confirmed.
Toymate stocked the earlier 30th Celebration releases in store and is expected to carry the Battle Decks. Selected Toymate stores opened at 7am for the 16 September launch in NSW, SA, VIC, ACT and QLD; no special hours were confirmed for the 2 October release. Special opening hours for 30 October have not been confirmed, so check your local store. CardWatch has not tracked a Toymate Battle Deck listing, and no store allocation has been reported.
Games World has released each 30th Celebration wave in store on the day and rarely sells online now, so it is expected to carry the Battle Decks in store. It opened at 8am for both earlier 30th Celebration releases, but has not confirmed special opening hours for the Battle Decks; check its posts the day before rather than assuming an 8am open.

Toyworld stores have carried the earlier 30th Celebration releases as walk-in stock, but allocation varies by franchise and store. Nothing is confirmed for the Battle Decks; check your local Toyworld.
Kidstuff has carried the earlier 30th Celebration releases in store (CardWatch tracked eight of its 30th products across September and October). It is expected to be a walk-in option for the Battle Decks, but nothing product-specific is confirmed.
Myer carries Pokémon TCG in store, and CardWatch's in-store monitoring has seen the earlier 30th Celebration products at some Myer stores since early October, but when a product reaches a given store, and in which state, varies. Treat Myer as a later-in-the-day or later-in-the-week check rather than an opening-time destination. No Battle Deck sighting yet.
Other retailers to watch
Woolworths has the Battle Deck loaded in its system, under the name '30th Celebration Build & Battle Box' and the same article number BIG W uses for the deck (6087716). None of the 1,141 Woolworths stores CardWatch monitors has shown Battle Deck stock since monitoring began on 18 September. The same monitoring has detected earlier 30th Celebration products at 94 stores across NSW, Queensland, Victoria and the ACT. No 30th Celebration stock has been recorded at Woolworths stores in WA, SA, Tasmania or the Northern Territory. Woolworths has not confirmed Battle Deck availability for 30 October. Best & Less and Officeworks have each stocked some 30th Celebration products (Knock Out Collections and Mini Tins); neither is an established release-day option for the Battle Decks.
Specialist stores
EE TCG lists the Battle Deck at $45 with a 30 October release and its preorder is sold out. Pokébox lists it at $49.99 as an assorted preorder for 30 October, also sold out. Collectible Madness lists the Espeon ex and Umbreon ex decks separately at $50 each, currently without stock. Many specialist stores allocate through preorder, so check each store directly.
Going in-store? Read this first
High-demand launches are handled differently by each store and shopping centre, so confirm the details for your specific store on the day. See the full in-store release day guide.
Shopping-centre access
If the store is inside a shopping centre, check the centre's own opening and access information as well as the store's advertised time. Some public entrances open earlier because they service early-opening tenants (supermarkets, gyms), and different entrances can leave you much closer to Kmart, BIG W and the like. Do not use staff-only or restricted entrances, and do not assume a queue at one exterior entrance is the only queue. When you arrive, confirm where the actual store queue is forming.
Find where the line is forming
Most stores will use the normal entrance and a simple first-come queue. Some stores may hand out numbered tickets or stickers, or introduce another queue system on the day. If staff or security are managing the queue, follow their directions.
Arrive early and expect queues
Arrive early and expect queues to form outside the shopping centre before opening. Once the centre opens, customers will generally make their way to the retailer and form a second queue outside the store. Queue management varies by location. Some stores may hand out numbers or tickets, use stickers, or introduce purchase limits, while others may simply serve customers in queue order.
24-hour Kmart
A 24-hour Kmart does not necessarily mean a midnight Pokémon release. On previous launches, collector reports have varied: some stores released around midnight, others held launch stock until the morning. Check with the specific store rather than assuming stock will be released at 12:00am.
CardWatch state channels
Check your CardWatch Discord state channel before travelling and while moving between stores. Members share live local intelligence: queue sizes, where the queue is forming, whether numbers are being handed out, reported limits, whether stock has reached the floor or customer service, and whether a store looks sold out. These are live community reports and can change or be incorrect. Open the CardWatch Discord.
Have a backup store
Pick a second destination before launch morning. Areas with several relevant retailers (Kmart, BIG W, Toymate, Toyworld, Games World and local card stores) give you another option if your first store has a big queue, gets no stock or sells out. None of these are guaranteed to have release-day stock.
Before you leave home
- Check the retailer's opening time
- Check the shopping centre's opening time and public entrances
- Check the latest retailer and local-store social posts
- Check your CardWatch state channel
- Know your backup store
- Don't assume another store's limits or queue system applies to yours
Release-day game plan
- Know what you are buying: Two separate 60-card ready-to-play decks with a deck box, coin and playmat each. No booster packs. Where a retailer sells them as one assorted line, you may not get to choose between Espeon ex and Umbreon ex.
- BIG W: Use the state table above and the 30 October stock report's store-by-store breakdown. The allocation is small, so if a particular store matters, check its figure and get there for opening.
- Going in-store: This is a store day. Plan for normal opening hours: BIG W and Kmart from 8am, Target from 8am or 9am (smaller quantities), so the first hour after opening is the window. Games World opened at 8am for both earlier 30th Celebration releases and selected Toymate stores opened at 7am on 16 September in five states, but neither has confirmed special hours for 30 October, so check their posts the day before. Toyworld, Kidstuff and Myer vary by store, with Myer often later.
- Preorders and online: Most major-retailer online preorder windows have already passed. JB Hi-Fi has a potential restock staged, but no date or time has been confirmed. Target has sometimes released stock online on launch day, so keep CardWatch alerts enabled rather than relying on a predicted drop time. Additional online availability elsewhere remains unconfirmed.
